Syracuse, N.Y. — The Jersey cows came back from pasture Monday evening in a loose line, making one of their final walks toward the white milking barn at Silver Spring Farm. Their hooves landed heavily. Their udders were full. Gates swung as the barn filled with low moos and the smells of hay, manure and cattle.
