Albany, N.Y. — A federal judge on Wednesday refused a request by more than a dozen county sheriffs in New York to block a state law banning cooperation agreements with federal immigration authorities.U.S. District Judge Mae D’Agostino ruled that the sheriffs likely did not have the capacity to sue the state over the “Local Cops, Local Crimes Act.”
